LEADER+, the breeding ground for new rural policy
LEADER+ is one of four initiatives financed by EU structural funds and is designed to help rural actors consider the long-term potential of their local region. LEADER stands for Liaison Entre Actions de Développement de l'Economie Rurale. It is an experimental programme that aims to give socio-economic impulses at local area level, through funding of local and regional initiatives. These initiatives may be developed by individuals, local associations, private companies or regional and local government bodies.
