Priorities Leader
Flevoland
The priorities and strategic
aims of LEADER Flevoland are:
- To reduce the vulnerability
of the agricultural sector
- In general, the strong points
of the agricultural sector in the region can be used to reduce
its vulnerability. The farmers' high level of training and their
traditional focus on modernisation and innovation play a major
part in this.
-
- To promote the Recreation
& Tourism sector
- The fact that distances are
long constitutes a handicap in the further development of tourist-recreational
activities in the region. The main focus will therefore be on
increasing the synergy of tourist-recreational elements in the
area, and on the reinforcement of a few points for attention
in the area which have already been developed to some extent.
-
- To enhance the quality
of life in the small nuclei
- The attempt to break through
the vicious circle that is currently noticeable is of central
importance in this:
- decline in the level of facilities
as a result of scaling-up
- reduction of the quality of
life
- reduced interest in living in
small nuclei
- further reduction in the level
of facilities.
The use of new technological
and/or organisational options, close cooperation with the population,
and boosting the region's image should go hand in hand to break
through this vicious circle.
- Mini-SME Flevoland
- The aim of this measure is to
promote business investment and therefore employment among small
businesses in the countryside.
-
- Local initiative group
- For the development and execution
of the above points a steering group has been set up, with representatives
from the provincial government and the municipalities - Noordoostpolder,
Dronten and Lelystad - and from each of the sectors on which
this programme focuses.
